Update from Administrator – August 26, 2021

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

I want to share with you the good news that effective today Wednesday 8/25/2021 we have been officially cleared from out break status by our DPH epidemiologist . In the last week we have performed 589 PCR Covid -19 tests and 300 Binex (rapid tests) on staff working in the building and all residents. The results of these tests were negative.

As a result of this update:

In room visitation may resume for all vaccinated residents and visitors. Remember that masks must remain on through the. duration of the visit. Outdoor visits remain an option especially on these beautiful summer days.

Social distancing is still in effect for our visitors -please socially distance from our staff and others not-related to you, especially in common areas and during activities.

Should a resident or staff member test positive, the unit, floor or care area will suspend visitation on that section until the unit, floor or care area has gone 14 days without a new
COVID positive case.

The main dining room meal service will resume Thursday at the lunch meal.
Group activities will resume in main dining room, Thursday 8/25. This means Bingo is BACK!

In addition, according to DPH guidelines:
All staff, regardless of vaccination status must participate in weekly surveillance testing. All staff who are not fully vaccinated before they begin to work each shift must receive a rapid COVID test.

Staff may be excluded from surveillance testing participation if they are within three months of being recovered from COVID-19. Newly admitted residents who are not fully vaccinated must quarantine in a private room, or, if not available, in a room with another resident who has recovered within the previous 3 months. Staff must wear eye protection when providing care for residents.

We continue to provide on site vaccination for staff and non vaccinated residents. Currently, 80% of staff and 89% or residents have been fully vaccinated. We are making good strides toward full compliance of the Massachusetts Vaccine Mandate for nursing home employees.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Robin or Janet for questions or concerns.
Stay safe!
